The Emeralds are our second to oldest dancers, ages thirteen to sixteen.
Emeralds start to focus on learning proper dance technique such as isolations of the body, improving performance quality, and developing complex rhythms and patterns. They’re exposed to more styles of dance such as Ballroom, Modern, Pointe, and Lyrical to help develop a well-rounded dancer. The dancers do more complicated barre work and perfect their dancing in the center floor.
With Ms. Laurel’s permission, dancers may begin teaching their own lower level classes such as Ballet 1 or Tap 1, or they may be invited to be teaching assistants.
