The Opals are our older intermediate dancers, ages ten to thirteen, and they often perform in cooperation with the Rubies.
Their curriculum, like the Rubies, consists of more advanced terminology and technique, greater emphasis on good posture, and coordination, and more center floor work, but it is more challenging to help the dancers prepare for the Emeralds. With Ms. Laurel’s permission, dancers may begin taking pointe. These kids take jazz, ballet, and tap once a week, plus the required team class.
