What to expect in the week leading up to the June recital.

Michael talks to Carrie, Sadie’s mom, who graciously volunteers to help run the registration table every year at the School Carnival. Our parent volunteers are the glue that hold this place together!

June Recital

Every year, Dream Dancers holds a school Carnival to kick off recital week. There are treats, games, and a bounce house for the dancers, their friends, and their siblings to enjoy. Parents, meanwhile, have the option of early registering their kids in classes for the following year for a discounted rate.

Also during the Carnival, Ms. Laurel has a complete run-through of the dances to help her work out the timing for the recital. She will give your dancer a time slot to perform, and it is imperative that he/she is in the studio at the appropriate time!

Wednesday dress rehearsals are reserved for non-team dancers. Ms. Laurel will give your dancer a sheet that shows when he/she needs to report for pictures and report to the stage for practice. Your child needs to come in his/her costume. If your dancer is a girl, her hair and makeup need to be done. If you need help with how to do stage makeup, please refer to our tutorials on YouTube.

Thursday dress rehearsals are reserved for Team dancers. MS. Laurel will give your dancer a sheet that shows when he/she needs to report for pictures and report to the stage for practice.

Saturday is the big day! There are two performances, one at 1:30 and one at 6:00. Team dancers are awarded at a special banquet at the conference center in between shows, and all dancers are given a special present at the end of the second performance.
